Getting better

I'm getting better. This would be my answer to, "BRING OUT YOUR DEAD". I've got a nasty cough but my voice is getting there. I went to work of four hours to work up my 285 milk samples and hit the listeria enrichments (caution science talk) I worked up a few tests, assisted with the 48hr reads and then ran screaming from the building. Ok so it was more of a little mouse squeak. Went to target and blew a much of money for the vegas trip. OUch this thing is killing me. I came home, napped and then was extra lazy for the rest of the day. I have to be speaking on thursday because we leave to go to nashville and since the while lot are leaving early, its hotel room for us!!! Weeeee.

Lost.....

i have completely lost my voice. This has never happened to me, I've been raspy or horse but never once have I lost the complete ability to form sounds into words. Its pissing me off. I've drank about a gallon of hot tea, a full bear of honey and a whole squeezie lemon, still no dice. The gin and tonics may not have helped, the overly chatty friends, or the staying up late on time change day but come on, NO VOICE. The best I get are little squeaks, and a rocking smokers cough. Alas I'll just get a big over coat and a blond headed friend who does all the talking.

Fiber a go-go

Last weekend the knitters and I went to a smaller fiber fair. I missed it last year because I was working at the hospital and had to work weekends. This year I wasn't going to miss it for anything, include and not limited to husbands returns from one month training events in other states. Lucky for him and me he was scheduled to return late that night, thus giving me a bunch of fiber time. It was a yarn group snowball, I picked up Jen, we drove to Phil and Judie's, who then drove to exit 11 to get Karen, we all squeezed in and drove to exit 24 and took Debs supermassive mobile down to nashville.

Beautiful canned goods that I forgot to go back and buy, I had so much yarn I really should haven't spent the money anyway.

SHEEP!
There were quite a few of these guys in all colors and breeds, it was neat to see them all. Some rabbits and some cats, no chickens that I could find.
I got some lovely bits at Fiber Denn, who never lets me down. Her colors and yarn is some of the best. I got some fiber too, silver baby alpaca and got to spend sometime with the wheel I want. Which I have been green lighted to buy, but will wait until at least tax return season to plunk that money down on a single item again, see last post.

We moved on from the fair after we had all made some purchases and then hit the yarn stores.
Naughty Knitter first. Since they are by far our favorite yarn purchasing place in the nashville area.
I got a few little things......(Pictures taken with Nikon D40 ahhhhh its so nice to have full control of things again)
DSC_0016
I got the last Hippo they had, thanx to Rachel who made sure I knew they still had one left.
DSC_0017
Finally a ball of my favorite artyarns colorway, 127. It stripes all pretty and I can hardly wait to knit with it, but I'm sorta at a crossroads of what to knit and can't decide.
Moving along, we concluded that we were all hungry, all that yarn can do that to you. Back in the beast and on to Threaded Bliss. None of us had been there since it was sold and we were all quite curious, so off we went.
DSC_0013
Three balls of Dream in Color was the answer. It is much more green than that, but alas I have no photoshop......anyone, anyone. This will become the "social disease"of scarfs. I may start this before Vegas, or not.
Carrying on from there, Haus of Yarn once again peeved us all by saying they were closed at 10 'til 4 to a car full of knitters on a roll. This was my nap time, I had about hit a wall, having not gone to bed until about, eh 2am and then having slept poorly, and then getting up early. Napped until the weeeeeee hours of the AM and then picked up the Hubby. Spent Sunday washing every green sock, uniform and light brown shirt in the house.

More pictures later..

Now that Robert Goulet has passed away who is going to mess with my stuff at 3 in the afternoon when my blood sugar is low. Damn.

ouch, ouch, ouch....

Ugh, so I feel like a t-rex after weed whacking the yard. "My forearms are just as useless as yours" to quote an old Far Side cartoon. Since I have massive weeds rather than grass or landscaping to hold up the hillside it must be whacked not mowed. Yeah weed whacker not made for 5'2" girlie girl. UGH. Needless to say, no working out for me today. I plan to hit up Lowes for some house painting bits and pieces, drop off a load of crap at good will and plant a nice fall pot for my front door, so that it looks as someone actually lives at my house rather than a mini cooper.

Lawn down, weed whacking to go

So I finished getting my front lawn, dirt, crap, in order about 20 minutes ago and now I'm pooped. I still need to start the weed whacking, that I'm a little nervous about though. Never done it but it should be funny. Think I'll start in the back where no one can see me, neighbors are gone. Speaking of neighbors gone, no one lives in Clarksville any more the whole damn army is gone, the units not deployed are at JRTC and the SF is about to go on winter cycle so if you want to go out to dinner, shop at walmart or just about anything without having to wait six months now is the time. Sorry there will be no action shots of me making a fool of myself.

It's cold

Hot Damn, its 41 degrees outside right now. OOOOOO. In Idaho it would have snowed by now, and I'd be wearing my "big" coat to class, but as long as it was dry I'd still have some flip-flop days. I miss Idaho. I still have grass thats working on growing and plants that need planting. We'll see.
Coming up this weekend, Claire and the weeds, stay tuned to watch me mow and weedwhack the small jungle in my backyard. Giggle with my neighbors and wonder at how I haven't gone clean through the power cord yet. Cold beer and bbq to be served after.

All but the Zipper

I finished the Zip cardigan last night,

All the crochet is on and the ends woven in. I still have no zipper for it and it needs to be pressed. I'm very happy because it fits great. Now I'm turning my attention to my perfect pie shawl. I'm on a knitting mission this October to clean out all my knitting projects and start fresh. I'm even working on killing my, cough cough... stash. Ok I have no stash, its like 3000 yards of some yarn that I got on sale. I do have a nice selection of sock yarn though. The sock yarn sits out in a pretty basket.

Gonna be on TV....

HA, kicking! At about 10 they stuck their heads into out lab and yelled... "BE HERE AFTER LUNCH RIGHT AT 1, THE NEWS WILL BE HERE" Channel 4 nashville, 6pm there or be square.

The Zip Cardigan without the Zip

When we bought our house, they said it was a split level without the split......um that wouldn't be a split level then. We have TWO stories, or a main level with a basement. Well thats how the Zipper Cardigan is right now, just a cardigan. I can't for the life of me find a zipper. I will in the end get from Zipperstop since they are the end all in zippers. I wanted to find one a little less plastic zipper-y and more fashion but eh.
More Seams
I am super pleased with the set in seems they fit great.

I will need to block a little more, but my goals for the month are to get this thing done and wearable for the fiber fair on the 27th. I better get a cracking on that crab stitch.

Ending Starts

I've been knitting a lot as of late, but not really getting any where important. Many months, and I mean Months I started and finished the Zipper Cardigan from Blue Sky Alpaca.....
Sleeves
Then we moved, and so I packed up the sleeves and fronts and back. I started feeling the tell tale heart, or sweater in my closet. Tick tick tick of my needles in my sleep and when I looked longingly at other patterns. I gave in and pulled it out. I had not problem with the seeming which means my scientific knitting worked great, I'll explain latter. I know feel a bit better about a new project.

I've finished the "mint chip" felt purse, felted it and knitted the inside pocket but not felted that yet.
Mint Chip
Its just waiting on the floor, just right there were that picture was taken. I've also been working on the socks, but since they just get toted around in my purse they don't always get so much work, but they get to see all the sites. Mainly the inside of a lab desk.

Crazy news story of the week and great new graphic, I wana be the person who made this thing.....
BRAINS!!!

If you wana know I'll answer any and all questions it falls under parasitology.

A little bit of everything

Here are some pictures of this weekend so far....
Nova
Ross went to look at this car, its all painted and ready to have the last pieces put on, like windshields and weather striping. He says that it looks great. I'm really excited that its going to be done.

Dinner
Here's a look at what we had for dinner, strangely this weekend was both Ramadan and Yom Kippur, we basically we offended the worlds two other major religions in one tasty piggy-rib bite. Ross handled the rubs, one sweet-ish one spicy. We had some curly fries with them, because they were clogging up the freezer and they needed to be eaten. Plus chips, salsa and TWO pies. Key Lime and oreo. Watch out when army guys go to the grocery store after eating nothing but MRE's for a week. But every last crumb of pie was eaten, all but like three ribs and ever fry was consumed like locus descending on the crops.

Today, sunday, we were going to work on the front yard a touch but have forgone this for a better sunday treat..... FOOTBALL. Ok so Hub is watching football, I'm chilling and cleaning a bit and will be over for football in the evening. I was also going to make meatloaf for dinner, but since we've basically stuffed our colons full over the passed few nights I think that a nice pasta meal will be more welcomed. Not sure what yet. I've got to get some things at Target today so I'll do that too.

Mint Chip purse

I have finished something in the knitting world, my Mint Chip felted purse (pattern to follow). Ok so I know its just a lump in this picture, but honestly its felted and just waiting patiently on my office (a total mess) floor to be finished completely. I plan on some pockets and a nice brown, chocolate like button for the flap. More pictures latter

Yard

Then we called for backup, Tim came over to help so I could go grocery shopping
Call for back up.....

When I got home it was done, and my plants where very happy.

What I do for yarn...

When I'm not knitting I work so I can afford said yarn, jeans, shoes all sorts of stuff that I buy. But yesterday my 217, samples arrived yesterday. Its killing me. I read all 217 plates today to see what grew, happy little bacteria!!!!!

Sunday, September 09, 2007

Ahhh Sundays

Sundays are for getting up late, non-church goer here, and laundry. Today I am sans-hubby because he's over at Andrews watching more football than any one person should be able to watch in any given weekend but thats what NFL sunday pass is all about. I've got laundry, hair dying and some good old fashioned bathroom scrubbing to do!! Lucky for me we have TWO bathrooms now and the guests, oh guests my ass, the guys and neighbor who come over every saturday night are rather clean and that bathroom doesn't need much attention. Hubby's field uniforms aren't bad either so I'm down to like 2 loads today. If I play me cards right I can be done with all the house madness by 3 to watch the Sea-chickens play Tampa Bay, sure.
Enjoy these tasty burgers from last night.....mmmmm

Do to the fact that vox has sorta dropped off the face of the planet, at least all my friends who seem to have other cooler sites I'm back to my old stand by of Blogger. I like it, no adds, no Pepsi created templates and if I knew more about what I was doing I could add other neat things to my blog. So send help. K, I've got a big day and I've got to get a move on, I'll send pictures.

awww the weekend

The weekend has come again, and gone again. But then again I really don't have weekends. I worked on friday but had yesterday and today to enjoy. It wasn't so bad. I went on a crazy shopping spree yesterday, buy all sorts of wild things like a jewelry box and a magazine. CRAZY!!! The jewelry box was from tj maxx too so it was dirt cheap. Amanda and I went out and about yesterday while Evan did car silliness. We did stop by Hodgepodge, Paige's store downtown, and showed off our knitting. Amanda has a baby hat pattern thats make you wana puke cute and I have my standard felted purse. She wants prices and then some to sell. I'm all excited because she's got some great purses that she just got in that are really fantastic and I WANT ONE!!!! We headed out after the car silliness was done to see how well the subie drove, and went to dinner. After dinner we drank wine and laughed until the kitties looked at funny playing balgerdash. Today was a big day of doing not much. Getting up and working out. Lots of knitting, and cleaning. The fish got a clean tank....sooooooo very clean too. Eddie got a clean bin, and he's been running around and around in his wheel all evening making me look bad. Yes i still have eddie, i was hoping to be rid of him by now but since i can't seem to pawn him off on people I'm stuck with the little guy. I've been busy knitting for the passed few hours. Its now time for a cup of tea and more knitting.

Oh thats right I have time now...

Well any whoooo. Without all that pesky studying to do I've actually had time to do things, but really haven't. In fact I've been frantically cleaning my home. Top to bottom. Its just generally grubby. Little dead bugs in the spots that you never really see, and dust. My place looks great. I still have a few big things to do. Like the Kitchen and the front closet. Lots of cleaning. I still debating if I want to mess with the move or not. For like 50ish bucks more a month I get a bigger place with a patio and big kitchen but I do have to move and moving is a bitch. Moving moving moving, yuck yuck yuck. Plus all that pesky address change. Today was the best, I finally cleaned the piss out of the office. Its sooooooooo clean so nice, actually able to leave the door open again!!!!! I need to get the bathroom finished too, I need to get some stuff for the bathroom because nothing matches in there and its driving me a little nutters. I want some pictures for the walls. Well then Its time to go to bed. Talk to you latter.

Budgies a go-go

Well that has nothing to do with this post but it sounds good. SO I've been driving the mini almost everywhere I go these days. Learning to drive and drive and drive. Learn the art of turns and such. Still start to get panic-ie on hills, and don't maintain good petal pressure on the gas causing an almost stall. This is my problem. I'm working hard on it though. What else have I been up to. Went on a shopping spree in nashville for yarn, see soyouknit for those stories. Been studying very hard, hahaaaa. I should have know some leave dates by now but there has been some problems with como these days. Things beening how they are and such. Mmmmm things I've been doing things I've been doing. Today I slept because I worked last night. I got up and worked out and grocery shopped. Knitted and studyed. I also drove out to see Jen and safe her from the hell that was the last FRG meeting. At chuckie cheese. It wasn't pretty. Then we went for dinner. Adults should talk to adults. Small children also scare the crap out of me. I popped on over to Amanda's for tea and cookies and to watch some Daily show. It was good fun. Now I'm home watching tv and bloging. Wow what a life. Oh and Mike if you still read this thing, would you freakin email me. Nightie-night

He's got a nice little mouse house and he'll go to a great 6 year old I know, when she's home from her summer vaction.

Adventures in Driving Volume II

Soo after many many fowl words, very unlady like fowl words too, I felt good enough or stupid enough to take the mini out to some roads with street lights. So It wasn't to bad, I'm finding that magic place here the car stalls out and where it doesn't. Resisting the urge to floor it, when I have a chance to go, but I'm getting better. I didn't stall it, not like the first night I drove it. I got some good driving in, with some little hills, figured out about that, gotta find that magic clutch in clutch out spot. But over all I'm doing it. The jetta just in no where as fun to drive as the mini. Sorry Jetta. Not to mention there's nothing like driving a car that makes people smile when they see it. Well me and and mini with its limo tint windows are going to take the rest of the day off, and maybe just maybe if I'm silly enough I'll drive it work tomorrow.

Adventures in Driving Volume I

Well now then... I got my cooper after some work. A little here and little there, and then boom no more passat Hello Cooper. It took all day but its mine now. The Mini as you can see is a fantastic color, and about the same color of my hair. It also has about 20% tints and black leather sooooooo when stopped at a light and having a cop behind me, guess what happened. Um yeah, BIG HUGE LIGHT!!!!!!! I got lit up by a cop at like 9pm driving the mini with my friends in it. Seeing as I'm not a native stick driver, I'm still stalling it at least once each time I drive it. But I did drive it down town for dinner. Everytime i drive it I love it, but it also freaks me out. So my dream car is mine now. Weeeeeeeeeee

MINI Cooper

MINI Cooper S!
Originally uploaded by aorr.
Ok so today in a moment of complete boredom and risking life and limb Evan and I went to test drive a mini cooper. Yes thats right a mini cooper. The car I have always wanted. A red velvet metalic 5 speed mini. I DROVE A 5 SPEED. The guy all but told Evan to take me to the nearest parking lot and show me how to drive the Damn thing, and that we did. So In one day I test drove my dream car, drove my first 5 speed, and latter in the day went 110mph on the freeway not in the mini. Um but we won't talk about that. So now I'm hooked on getting a 5 speed. I loved it. Theres nothing like having that kinda control over your car. I also loved the car. They wanted a bit more than I would give them for it so I'll have to talk them down. Oh well. Its not an S but its not a bad car. Thats the big news for the day. Amanda and Evan and I went to see the Omen after we had some Starbucks, than some late night wendy's salads and a good bottle of wine. God we're odd folks but its fun. I'm just thrilled about my learning to drive a stick. Think happy mini thoughts. CA

Em can you hold on just a bit longer. Oh hell it should be done by the time Gabe comes along. Ok. Well its like 12 am and I should go to bed.

Lou Diamond Philips

Soooo.... I've interupted my morning knitting to blog. Why, because its wednesday and as it turns out on Wednesday from 8-3pm I can watch x-files on the Sci-fi network. Yes I'm admitting to it. But as I watch I've discovered that Lou Diamond Philips has stared in ever last one of there made for TV movies. Just thought that was kinda odd and funny. Ok back to your regularly scheduled knitting.

Finally Friday..........

Well its not actually Friday but it feels like it me. I worked three days straight. All 36 hours at once. It was great to get it done, but it also sucked. Really freaking sucked. Mmmmmm what has happened since monday, oh yeah NOTHING. I haven't been awake or not working long enough to do anything. I took out some garbage, slept a lot. I even did a little yoga. But just once. Tomorrow I'll really work out. So did you see this thing on CNN about the women who beat the dog breader with a dead dog. Then as she drove away hung the dead dog out of the sun roof. Its sad and funny at the same time. Not to mention that while I was watching tv there's a rock paper, scissors event that will be on TV. I think AandE is starting to loose sight of the arts and entertainment thing. Oh well. Strange things.

Hell might have frozen over......

Yes thats right. I went and lounged by the pool in the sun in my swim suite and I didn't burn. We're talking like 4 hours of sun exposure. Granted I don't have a tan to show for it but I'm just proud I didn't burn. So I worked a bunch this week, which has been educational and fun at the same time. I've also learned that I'm ok at 3am, 4 isn't usually a good time but 3 not bad. So about the pool thing, yeah so that was odd, I've never been a lay in the sun and do nothing kinda person. I wasn't sure what to do with myself. But it wasn't a bad time. I headed out to dinner with my friend Caryn that night and then back home for a few beers and a movie. Today was short on sleep and long on doing nothing. So I should round up my study stuff for the week.

the pool is open

Mmmm so today it was freaking hot, at least for me it was. But after sleeping until 1030, I worked last night, I got up and did nothing all morning. Well it was well into the afternoon when I went to the pool and after sitting in the hot sun I was convinced to get my new bathing suite on and get in the pool. This was a big step for me and my super winter white legs. Well after a good coat of sun screen I braved the pool and floated around with a pina colada for the rest of the afternoon. It was well worth it. I my spend more time pool side this summer. Tomorrow brings a passport photo, a notary and a trip to dickson, I'll tell you all more about it later.

Finally

Well its all finally over, school that is. I graduated last night in a not so pompous ceremony. It was short sweet and to the point. Now that I have nothing left to do with my time but knit and study, with a little house cleaning thrown in for good measure, I plan on resuming my constant bitching...so here goes......WHOOOO GIVES A RATS ASS ABOUT.....Brad Pitt and whats her butt with the big lips. I don't. Between them and their damn baby, which if you haven't noticed is the coolest new fashion accessory since a cell phone, and being going on and on and on about brittney's stupid kid I just wana scream. Just what we need here, another kid. Just the world needs is a nother spoiled stupid named child. Grrrrrrrrr. Ok ok, well any way. Enough of that. Weather has been down right fun here this past week, almost too hot days with great thunderstorms all night. Yes all night... when I got awakened at mmm 11:56 by a text message... "still awake?" WELL I AM NOW JUST CALL DAMN IT. The lightening was great. My plants are watered and then they get sun, what more could my little citrus bush want!!!! I got lovely flowers from my inlaws yesterday, so now I have a fanstatic Pink flower arrangement to look at. Its very nice. Today brings nothing, completely nothing, if I don't want to do it. But I should. I should go to the library seeing as I can now. OOOo I can walk to the library thats a great Idea. Well its coming up on lunch and I haven't knitted at all yet, oh check out my knitting blog if you care to www.ohsoyouknit.blogspot.com it were all my knitting stuff will go, so you don't have to read it if you don't want to...oh and speaking of reading things......MIKE EMAIL ME. Have a lovely friday.

OH Great Scott......

Well now then, its been a wild few days. Well not for me, but for those who ride in the car with me. She's currently toting a second very weeee, very weee passanger. I went to work last weekend and it was nice. It wasn't that bad at all, a little pushie and little odd because I can't result anything so Kathy was a little stressed out. Though I actually graduate on thursday I don't know how things will work out. We had another strange and shitty week and work. We got questions answered with more questions and just general shit. My Friend liz left for BNOC this week so we hung out every evening, her Dana and I. But don't forget the puppie. Friday was kinda a crapper but I did get a chance to watch my movies and just relax on my sofa. My computer crashed and burned, so i had to bring it back up. I'm going to have to complete erase and reinstall. Oh factory settings. This morning we had some pancakes down at Linda's Pick a Rib. Mmmmmm great food. Its been threating to let loose all day with a great big Thunder storm. Long rumbles but no real rain. I went and got some more summer clothes, just a few shirts and a new wallet thingie. Generally I've done nothing today. I've got a dinner to go to soon, that should be good. Well then.

ARrrrrrrG

No I haven't turned into a pirate, but I'm close to something. Not sure what it is. I've been to work, to the state lab, to seattle, to the state lab and then this weekend to work again. I'm tired and my glasses keep falling down on my nose. AHHHHHHHHH. there they go again. Other than being stressed, I had a great time in seattle. My flights were good, they went to Denver which was great. Its the perfect half way point, 2.5 hour and 2.5 hours. No real food, but what do you want for 200 bucks. While I was home, we ate a bunch of food which is great!!! Ate at Salty's with the grandparents, that'll stress anyone out. Enjoy great weather is seattle which is crazy. Went home to TN on sunday and it was a whole day of flying but it wasn't so bad. This week has been a long and crappy one. We've been forgotten, ignored and left out to dry. I'm done with it. In fact we have tomorrow, which thankfully is friday, a full week and then one tuesday until we're freeeeeee. Free of APSU, free of school and free of royal crap forever. I can't wait. No more school, until I get my masters. Yes I'll get my masters, oh good lord I said that i'd never go back to school....and here I am planning for more. Its the food talking, i've eaten a bunch of chili this week and its starting to make me acted crazy. Well then, tomorrow's friday, and then a weekend of fun and games at the hospital. Weeeee. I'll let you all know how that goes..

Twice the BS

no its not twice the shit, but twice the crap yes. I was told that I was cleared to get my second BS from Austin Peay. That will make me BSM BSMT, wooooooooo whooooooo!!! No that just means that they'll want me to be a shift supervisor, DAMN. Well lets seeee, I've been to state lab all last week, after the super fun night weekend of rivers and spires. Then on friday night I stayed up well past my normal 11 pm bed time, actually until 230 so that I could sleep in until 10 am. I had a good reason, I went to work for the first time. I worked from 2p-2a. This wasn't quite as long as I thought it was going to be. I thought for sure that this would drag on and on but it wasn't bad. Left work at 2 got home at 3 went to bed at 330, totally crapped out. Talked to Ross for about 10 minutes though, which was good. Then I slept until 10 and did it all over again. Actually I got to leave at 10pm so I could get up and go to the state lab and dink around there. SO I managed to have an unproductive weekend. I did get all my laundry and such done on friday night. That also encluded finishing that freaking purple top that I've been knitting for about a decade. The next time I make something like that, I'll take better notes. IT only sorta fits. Today was a really yawner, yet again another thrilling day at the state. Did take a nice walk around and around the building at lunch, more people should do this. Tomorrow I head home for a few days, I'm thrilllllled about this, I leave right after work!!!!!!!!!! In fact I'm down right gitty about it. I hope the weather does well for me. Well then its getting to be bed time. Night

to be cute...

So for all you people out there who have called me cute. All 5 foot 2 of me. Yes I'm cute and I will embrace my cute. I won't like it, but I will accept the fact that I am CUTE. Have you ever looked up the word cute....most likely not. But if you do you find out some interesting things about this four letter word (I don't think thats a quinkie dink). Its an 18th century shorting of the world Acute in the sence to be clever or shewd. So thank you, I will allow all you tall people who get neat titles like, striking to call me cute. I'll take being clever. If your wondering the weathers fine down here. Ok I should lay off the NPR on the weekends. They did a great think on 360 about the word cute that got me thinking why do people call me cute and why am I never anything else. Oh well I'll take it now.
Oh yeah.... had a good weekend went to the cool stuff down town, tasted some wine and hung out with the band P. Jones. Dana knows them. Dog sitting went well and all is well in claire-ville.

Fun with other peoples DNA

Ok its not other peoples as so much other peoples bacteria's dna. Yes thats true, the DNA of a bacteria. This is my first week at the state lab in Nashville. We've already done more in three days than half of my degree. But then again, I already know and understand it while my class mates just kinda stare. We got cool ID's so we can go almost anywhere in the building with them and ride the "elevator". We did this crazy gel on tuesday that runs for 17 hours, ok un-mmbb people can just glaze over here. Then the past two days I've been runnng rt-PCR and PCR. Granted its been fun but its been a huge repeat. I'm just happy to show off what I know. I've been working my butt off so the week has gone my great. I'm puppy sitting for the weekend so Jack the dog and I are hanging out. Well its almost bed time

Easter Sunday

This is usually a time eating for me. Get up eat, hang around eat and then spend either some semi-quality time with the Fam or friends in moscow and eat. This year though I am far from home or my beloved moscow I have still managed to round up a small heard of people to feed and enjoy this most sacred of religous holy days, hahaaaaaaaaaaa. This good eatting day. I don't reflex, other than on the roast I purchased and I almost went to church this morning, but it was with a friend who as normal as back out on me, and told me to late to go back to sleep. Though its a good thing that I didn't sleep in, I never sleep well on sundays. So any whooo. Making a lovely braise boston butt for dinner, which has actually turned into more of a 1 in the afternoon thing. Thats crazy. Making risotto and we've got like three other dishes coming so its going to be a ton and a half of food. YES. Sooo they claim today is going to be a great and sunny day, sure I'll believe it when I see it, for now I'm just chilling contemplating what I should do with my morning. Though going for a walk sounds great, its easter and I'm going to be vegatable. HAPPY EASTER everyone!!!!!!! Eat lots, laugh some and don't pass up the second helping

The patron saint of computers

If there was such a saint I would pray to her relics and celerbrate her feast day like the good catholic that I am. Today I pressed that fateful button RESTART. And boom that computer would not restart......see I'm very fearful of this since it happened to me once. Actually twice. So in state of panic I cried and then tried to fix spot. And some 6 hour latter I'm back up and running. These macs are prepared for anything. It held on to all my stuff and when I reinstalled everything it just pulled it all out of memory. Now my puter is all happy. well should be on my way...... ca

Well what'do ya know.....NOT MUCH

Yeah really, not much. Didn't go to dinner on Tuesday, but on Wednesday had a burrito with Liz and went to walmart. Then we had somee wine and dessert while watching the tale end of lost over at A and E's. Thursday was a long day, but we got a fab meal brought to us by a vendor. MMMmmmmm honey baked Ham sammies, with two salads and a cookie. It was good day for the lab, we rarely get that much attention. Scampered out of there early by a half an hour, which gave time to nap and work out, something that has been done everyday since the 12th, oooo look at me. Had a great dinner at Liz's. A little bit everything was served because we all brought something. We had great wine as always. Mmm I really need to buy some of my own. mmmm sleep was great and then friday. We had more to do at work on Friday than we have had all week but it still wasn't much of anything. And we skipped out early again. As you can see my life is centered on food. I've been knitting and knitting on my circular shrug and its coming along nicely. Once I start working and stop all this silliness of going to do all day, I'm going to buy a sewing machine and start painting again, because I'll have whole days to my self. It will be great. Friday was good too, went out to dinner with Dana and shopped at walmart again, I've been there three times this week, I haven't been to wal mart since god only knows when and then boooooom, I'm there everyday. Well I've got things to do today like, clean and eat some more good food.

Don't wish to hard

So as the return of summer here in the South loomed nearer with warm days that actually stretched into the 80's I began to fear the comming of a hooooot summer, not my thing. And as I jelously eyed the cool temps in my home state I wished for a few more cool rainy days and bitterly windy mornings. Well in a unique twist of meterological fate, it might snow here tonight. Great. Well if it did I could miss work tomorrow and that would be great because I'm a little bored. Really I feel bad about not writing in the ol' blog but I have little to discuse these days. Work, home, workout, knit. Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeep. Though I don't get enough of that sleeping thing. I went and took my exit exam from APSU last week and it silly, really silly. The test is really a tests skills test. They want to know how well you can work the system. St. Patricks day wasn't that great, it was fun but not the kind of fun that should happen on a night of good food and drinking. I couldn't even get to the bar to get a drink and so was forced to drink what ever beer was bought, and me and beer...... well I never got remotly drunk. There was a green shot of something and that helped but didn't really do the trick. In the end I was drop dead sobber when i hit the pillow at 1am. I had a great time with Tom and Liz though, we had fun watching the crazy people that were out and watching there friend make an ass of him self over and over again, I was having Tom flash backs. Saturday was shopping day, and I bought some clothes. oooooo new jeans. Sunday was dinner at Evan and Amanda's yummmm! Monday was a monday. Driving with Super-twit is starting to grate on my already worn nerves. With her constant reliance on her father and going on and on and on about her inane life I'm going to go fucking crazy. I went to her little house today and it is a whole. You couldn't pay me to live in that house, or in that neighborhood. I made the mistake of letting her father drive my car, he left it unlocked with the KEY IN IT!!!!!!!!! When i learned that I nearly killed him. My car may not look like much but its my F-ing car not to mention It can't be replaced. If want that car and no other car. But then again they just throw money at shit. Well enough of my ranting and raving about all things stupid in my life. I should be going out to dinner with Dana tonight but I have a sneaking suspition it won't be happening. Thanx for the email Big Windy.

oops, sorry about the delay

Yeah really sorry about that, I had no idea that it was the 10th already. Sooooooooo.... really in the past ten days I haven't done much of anything other than finish like my umpteeth baby hat for the like 17 kids i know being born in the comming months or have already been born. UGH. I guess I am the only one out there with out the urg. No, no not saying that I don't want kids, or my friends with kids are doing something silly, I just haven't found that maternal instinct yet. Some times a catch a feelting glimps of it at work when I stick a reaaaaaaaly cute baby in the heel for its blood tests. Then I relise that its actually indigestion from the nasty coffee. But truely I'm kinda excited about some of my friends kids, Aaron, Emerald thats you. Fun people having fun kids, this is our goal. It just means I get to knit up some super fun baby stuff too. Ok back to my life. I've been at work a bunch. Took a friday off because I could, it was great, great I tell you. This week only lasted 3 days for me, because thursday was campus day. Yeah i took a god damn 200 question test yesterday. that freeakin sucked. Came home and wasted the rest of the day it was great. Then today Jen and i hit the big city in search of yarn. We hit up all three of the great yarn stores in nashville. i got some great wool to make a new felted bag, since mine has seen better days, plus I want to make it with longer handles so i can put it over my sholder. Like anyone cares about my knitting projects sorry about my ramblings. Well I'm pooped and i should eat some dinner, because its been about 7 hours since I consumed anything.

Fat Tuesday and a Fat lot of nothing

Yeah, sooooo lets see. Its fat tuesday and the last day of the month. Crazy, its already the end of the month. Though its has felt like nothing much has happened things are actually truley exciting, HAHAHAAA. Well then last night I had to corral a way ward cat. Tungstan managed to find his way out side via a pulled open front door. Stupid people. They can't seem to figure out the front of the building and so they pull on peoples front doors. Well thanx to an over load of weather stripping the lock didn't catch and one stupid person and doooom, out door cats. Well mr. cardon was toooo fat to get through the door. i was a little panicie because i didn't know how long that the door was open. i ran around and around yelling for kitties. Finally he showed him self, scared out of his little furry mind. I had to wrangle him inside, but when he heard his brother he ran right on in. By the time he made it in Dana was there and we got to work keeping kitties in. Well they did stay in. But most of monday was really uneventful. Work, drive, late, home. She can never get things straight, i don't know how hard it is after the first time you mess up. My weekend was pretty much a bust too, but I went to the grocery, woooooo. Today was another day of getting there late, and being freakin' bored. I spent the morning playing with antibodies in plasma, I played the cell game and it was fun. But there was a lot waiting around for things to incubate. I got a stick at another patient, it was good, two good sticks in two days. It is still fat tuesday as we speak, I had lunch up at the restaurant today because our cook is from LA, and he made great fat tuesday chow. I even got beads with out all the showing of body parts. Then back to the salt mines, ugh. Homeward, and then to going nothing, a bunch of nothing. So now then, Mike you have fun on that plane ride. Call when you get there. -ca

its been a long freaking week

So its been a really long week, a really long god damn week, and thank god its over. I missed monday because of the snow and i thought that would change the way the week went but no. There was serious emotional drama thanks to my car-pool mate. I was worn down before i could even give the week a chance. i was tired from tuesday on, wednesday was long, and then i went a knitting, which is where the fastfood came from. Thursday wasn't so bad, it look a while for 3 to get there and it was busy, freakin' busy. I guess the whole of city has found a reason to come to the hospitals ER and no one thought to bring a vein. I've been working my tail off, I've never had a tail really. Well then there was today, a day that dragged on like well, it dragged. They sent me home early, and it could have come soon enough. I feel like such a tool at work because i can't use the computer, so i'm no use to them. i just hang around breathing other peoples air. Got home and kicked around until Amanda and I went for a walk downtown and got a little shopping done. That was cool, I found a great sweater for nothing. Amanda found some great stuff too, I should go back to look harder. On the walk home we saw Dana and her mom so we went to dinner with them, yum yum. We went to the black horse, oooo got put the left overs away..... ok back. well then i've got knitting to do and csi to watch. Ok take care.

weee snow day

So after complaining a bit about the weather having trouble with days of the week I get a day off. It was really icy last night and this morning so we didn't go in. Its nice, I'm still in bed, ok got up and then got back in, its sooooooo warm and happy here. I had a great weekend. Went and did just tons of useless shopping. Didn't really buy anything just looked and looked. I did finally get my new glasses which I love. They are great. I got some more yarn, did you hear that that was another whole in my head. I will make a sweater out of it and it was on clearance so i gave it a good home. I tried some great makeup on too. So its nasty out and I'm just happy to a day off that we should have had off any way because its freakin presidents day. But no seems to care. So now I get a three day unplanned weekend. Damn. I should fold all my clothes that I left in the drier last night. Plus do that grocery shopping that needed to be done and mmmm take out the garbage. Yeah this blog is worth reading. Talked with ross this morning and he's doing great. Damn its like nearly 9 my time so I should get off my ass on my way to doing something. k

They called it at 9:15

Today i saw death, the first time up close and personal. A car accident, and four untis of blood. There was nothing left. At 9:15 am they called it after working for well over an hour.

I just watched, and saw, and walked away. It was truely my first dead body I looked over my shoulder to see it one more time. It didn't phase me. It was death and it was there and I moved on.

needless to say it was a big day.

snow and sunshine in clarksville

So its not fear and loathing, but its close, and damn near as weird. So here i am at midweek seeing that no one has heard from me in a least a week. The brain crushing presure is gone and I'm two antibiotics away from cured. I stoped taking the pseoephedra because I was feeling the effects of it. Today I'm a little shakie, which also blame on those cursed pills. Any whoooo, my week was more wine and british tv, along with a trip to get new glasses which turned into a return trip for returning glasses. My new lenses are still on there way so I have yet to get them, but thank god for that thrity day love them or leave them thing. It makes my life sooooo nice. its been a long week at work and hell its only half done, but I am getting alot of study time in so that makes me feeeeel really good. I got FREAKIN' FLOWERS this weekend from my sweet and loving husband, they arrived on saturday from the fedex man and they made me cry I was soooo excited. Six white six red, not for valentines day but just because. The card made no metion of that vial hoilday that middle schoolers get there little undies in a wad about, stupids. Julia and i got margaritas and I enjoyed that fact that i could wear red and pink together with out strange looks. I've also had my hair cut. It looks cute, but a tad short, but hell its hair it grows. Mike popped by on Monday, hes off to the korea and it was great to see him. HEY mike, I know at some point your reading this, hes a regular blog reader. Well then, I should be off to do some neglected things around the apartment. Oh yeah, how good of a story does that senetor have now, "I was shot once, by the Vice president" it'll make a great moment in history to ad to that presidentional pretzel problem.

Rules

So after working in the hospital for a month now, I have noticed a few things, and those things involve the people that come to visit the sick. These are the rules for visiting me, if I am to be hospitalized. No sweat pants, god for bid do not freaking wear god damn f-ing sweat pants. I don't care if its ass-3:30 in the morning no one is allowed to be seen in sweat pants. Please bath, I don't come in all yuckie and nasty to see me, trust me its never that urgent. Plus no one who works there wants to pass by your stinky arse in the hall. Please keep your mouth shut, this means no stupid questions when talking to the doctor, no being mean to anyone who comes to get blood, or any other fluid, and no saying dump stuff in the hall. Bring food, but not fast food. I've learned alot about the wide hospital world. Dress nicish, when visiting the hospital no matter where you are, even if your wife is going into labor. It makes the hospital a nicer place. Be clean, you are seen by many people who work hard and smell alot, they don't want to smell you too. The biggest thing is to make sure you get well, so ask what you can do to make them better, not why they do things. We take your blood because we need it to see if your well, we feed you because you need to eat. Don't eat crap, its what got you there in the first place. Your goal in life is to stay as healthy as you can as long as you can. Lay off the processed food, and smoking. Take a walk, to work, at work, around work, after work. Don't allow yourself to get stiff and old, it all does down hill from there. Also avoid the doctor for little things, cold, flu and other virus's, don't always except anitbiotics unless the doctor says they will help, and can prove it. The more you can take when you are really sick the better. Cipro doesn't solve any thing unless its really there. It only gives you the shits. Take your vitamins, kids chewable will work. Take extra c and B for your immune system. Not to preach to anyone, but since no one really reads this any way. Just stay out of the hospital if you can avoid it. I see so many people you are passed their prime much to early.
One more thing, please no mullets, keep all mullets away from me in the hospital, they are the worst.

Its been a long week

Hell it isn't even in friday yet, and i think I might just keeel over. I have a cold, which is the worst killer of man, and I just rather tired. I'm trying to make it through the week. I kinda stare off into space alot at work. Though I will say that I'm working really hard, even when I tired. I'll be moving on to another section of the lab soon and that makes me feel good, I do enjoy the chemistry section but I'm poooped and the chem section has about warn it self out. I have no one to bitch about today, but then I haven't been feeling at the top of my bitching game as of late, plus no celebs have been doing anything sooo moronic that I had to say something about it. I will say that the white trash at the hospital is impressive. I will say that I feel good never having to use the ER as my healthcare. Plus I will make it my personal goal to never go to the ER for something that I know isn't a real emergancy, like feeling light headed. Hell I get up to fast and I feel light headed, its not really a reason to clog up the system. Ugh. Well i should eat some dinner, even thought I have no real desire to get up from my warm comfie seat. Well enjoy.

a comment on society

So as I was watching my friends cat I was reading her copy of Us Weekly, and I was shocked at how painful it was. It was the most childish and shallow thing I've I read. Seventeen has more to it. All it was was pictures of stars and there new favorite charm, children, and little quips about them. It was sad. Not to mention that the need to be so freakin skinny is really to much for me. They all lookf gross, too skinny and nasty. I really think that if this a reflection of our current society its rather sad. We need to get better magazines out in the world so that other contries don't see us this way.

Pam the silicone has gone to your head

So Pam Anderson the smartest tool in the shed, found out, some how seeing as hes been dead my whole life, that Col. Sanders of KFC was mean to chickens. And that beeing said has made it life surrent mission to get his bust removed from the KY capitol. DOES ANYONE GIVE A SHIT. Not I. The fact that there are children alllllll over this country that are constantly being abused and neglected doesn't seem to bother this blond twit but some chickens treated poorly about 50 years ago does. FUCK YOU PAM, thats what I have to say to you, to hep C carring twit. But then PETA is behind it all and since they KNOOOOOW everything about animals and that animals are sooooooooo much more important then children lets all get behind Ms. Pam and give damn about KY and there chicken problem. I'm not saying I don't like chickens in fact they are quite good, but I do love animals but really people reallllllly. I Can't believe her, she has Hep C it will kill her and she's not out there telling kids not to screw around with strange people and get it, nope haven't seen much of that now have we, and hey lady, chicken livers don't work in humans.

Well now then, people if you have your arms all up and your panties in a wad about the guy who wrote "a million little pieces" I would like to remind you that its call FICTION for a freaking reason, if you want the truth read non fiction people, non fiction. And why may I ask you is this even new, there are some other really big problems that are worth covering. You pick them but Anglenia and Brads illbegoten child and who wrote what about who for how many cookies isn't really that important, but then again if some shmuck didn't write about it then I wouldn't have anyone to make fun of now would I.

Where do the weekends go

I wonder where, where in the world do they go. Maybe I should get earlier and then they woudn't disapear like that. Its been kinda warm here in Old clarksville which makes you wonder, is summer here already. Sooo this weekend I really haven't done much of anything. I cleaned and cleaned and then forgot to take out the garbage before it got dark so well it can wait until tomorrow. Its not going to stink any more. Did go see the RInger with Johnny Knoxville, It was great. It was such a cute movie I don't think that it needed the cheesy love story but it was great to see all the special olympics kids and they were great actors too. Other than that my weekend has basically been a huge waste but hell some times we need a good waste. I should be getting to bed, since the morning comes really quick when its 4 15. Take care you all. F'ing Pat Robertson

That f- wad, always saying stupid shit. Saying that God smote Mr. Sharon. Yeah, that freaking vengeful god, killing people because they "divided the holy land" last time I checked we can't prove anyone lived there, nor that we've even divided it. Until God him self comes on down and says, you there palistininas, and hey jews stop it. You all worship me, thats right me, the same god, nothing with change. At least until them I'll always have some one to laugh at, thanx again Pat for a quick laugh and making me angry. Im sure you'll open you big, dumb, southren mouth again and say something that will get you smoted, because it says in that thing that you are thumbing, that you should not judge, the big man gets to do that and you not him.

stick shifts and safty belts

Yes you need one when you drive with someone who uses the other. Not my driving week so I'm braving the trip to work daily. Well about that, I'm in a chemistry rotation this month and its fun, I love it. On monday we weren't need and on tuesday we read manuels and finally on wednesday the learning began. I can enter and run samples plus I spend much of my time working on get the blood to where it needs to go and the other part studing in my book. Its good. I'm rather tired because I now get it at about 4;15, mmm thats great. I take my shower get my hair kinda dry and drive to my friends house so that I can carpool. Its killing me. Frankie is talking to me right now. Its really funny, hes been really lonely because I've been gone so much. Its good though. I really feel like I'm doing something rather that just sleeping and going to school for like 3 hours a day. The getting up isn't sooo bad but is not my favorite thing on the planet. I could go to bed right now if I wanted to but no no must stay up its only like 5 pm for me. They said there might be snow but that isn't happening anytime soon. Ok well I've got some stuff to do, I should be getting new applances today.

UGH, so since I've had nothing to do for the last 3 days I've watched alot of tv and seen a lot of ads fot crap and if I have to say the worst ads are the ones for christan rock. The only thing I think of is Dogma when he says, "The shit that gets carried out in is name." Its shit the worst kind too. The big guy him self is covering his ears and wondering, why don't you people get a life. Ugh, double Ugh. All these people with there eyes closed singing the words, crap people its not that moving. Ok thats my first rant of the new year, just wait there will be plenty more.

The first day-o-the year

Well here it is folks 2006, does it feel any different, nope. After staying up until, wait for it 10 pm. Can you believe it . I tried and failed to get up at a slighly earlier than 8 am but no luck. I have to get up at 5;30 tomorrow so I was really trying to be really tired tonight. I chose to yoga this morning and my abs will hate me tomorrow. MMM yesterday I cleaned frankies super pooopie cage and he was very happy about it. Then after that I cleaned the bathroom, logical progressions. That was about the extent of my excitement yesterday. Today was about as thrilling. I took down my christmas tree, it was really easy. Currently I'm watching tv and there is this really weird brit selling this omlet maker thing, it flips up the sides. Its quite creapy. HE is too, very creapy. Well thats over with now. I almost want to see the add again, just to see if its for real. The weather was been rather nice, nice and sunny and slighly warm but with a breeze. I don't think it will last. Tomorrow it will be a balmy 68 but we're in for a great tunderstorm sweet. I should get a move on in the knitting world, I have about 10 baby hats to knit for the up coming baby bombardment. Ok you all have fun.

Christmas in Seattle Part II

Well this is the final chapter. I flew home today. UGH. I'm rather tired but I'm not going to bed yet, why I don't know. I flew both freakin legs on a super 80 which is like a vista crusier of the sky. Old shitty and cramped. It was really bad. It was like flying in a car with out AC too. I came home to a rather grubby house, so I have my work cut out for me these three days that I have off. I don't know what I'm doing for new years, most likely drinking some apple cider with the bird and crashing at 9, because is seattle thats when the ball drops and that is pretty much new year for me. I have tons to unpack and a fridge full of crap to throw out. I plan on eating at Micky-d's tomorrow just to get that craving for grey meat out of my system. I have two seasons of pete and pete to watch plus invader zim, it will be good. Ok take care everyone. I'll be posting some pictures now that I have a camera and such.

Christmas in Seattle part 1

So I flew to seattle for christmas since my husband is otherwise in- desposed for this holiday season. On the 17th was the troops freakin christmas party. Let me tell you if there was a form of visual birthcontrol this was it. Party started at 1pm, food was provided. At 12;35, we were still setting up and what should my wondering eyes should apear, but a fat woman and he eight tiny rugrats. Ok so no one with eight kids but rugrats gallore. No one was really interested in watching said children either and so christmas presents were almost unwraped and things a miss and kids runing around. It was enough for my last remaining ovary to shivel up and die. Once the presents had been handed out and the pinata smashed to bits, it was over and I could go home and sleep it off. I went out for sushi that night and well around 2 in the morning the ham that was most likely not properly heated or stored gave me a nasty case of the ummmm, well yeah we'll leave it a that. Well my flight left at 7:40 and so I was off to nashville, with plenty of time to spare I got there and through with Frankie. As we taxied for about 15 minutes that Ham came back again, this time up and out. Needless to say I never felt better. The next leg o the journey was uneventful and even it was I had my ipod on and could hear a damn thing. The next few days involved shopping and eating. My birthday was well christmas eve and a real joy. I spent it with folks and g'parents. Then there was christmas, which is always great until we get in the car and pick them up. I just got a drink as soon as we entered the door to their house and remained happy for the evening. Then after two days with the g'parents it was grandpa's birthday so one more day with them. Then this is my favorite, not like we haven't spent enough time with them, but Grandma calls and wants to know if we want to go out to dinner with them last night, and we we said no, she called back and asked if we would like to go tonight. AAAAAAAAAAAAHH, runaway. I love them to death but why, why can't they pick on all the grandkids equally. I go home tomorrow at the ass crack of dawn and then I have to go back to work on the 2nd. I'm now doing my internship at the hospital which I'm sure will prove to be an interesting situation, not to mention the other person from my class, but we'll save that for another blog day,

freakin cold

But I love it, the cold reminds me of Idaho and I miss Idaho so thats good. The weather has been cold- cold- cold but no snow, and thats fine too. I've been rounding out the last few weeks of school and finishing up some tests. I really haven't been doing anything nor do i have any one to rag on. I feel all tapped out. My life as had a certain amount of dull-ness in it. It will be less so in the next few weeks stay tuned. -ca

Well it's been quite a while

Sorry its been quite a while since I wrote in the old blog. In the past week or so since I wrote because I've been rather busy. First my parents arrived on the 19th for Thanksgiving. We drove to nashville in no time at all but once we picked them up it took us about 2 and a half hours to get home because every northish westish highway was under construction. It was really fun. On sunday we drove to Cookeville to see charlotte and Lamar. We had a great time there. The drvie was nice and I got to see parts of the state we've never seen before. We started with lunch of course, at Nicks a funny little local place. It was very nice. Then we went to the Falls and did the short little hike to see the falls, it was very nice. We burned off some of out lunch. From there was got some thing to drink and nibble on at this niffty coffee shop which was open on sunday, which nothing seemed to be open. From there we checked out the worlds worst craft show, the nasty stuff on the planet the was pawned off as art. After that it was time for dinner at Chedders and a display of southern fried idiots. Dinner was really good though. Then I bravely drove home. I was rather sleepy too. So after that excitement we went home and slept. Unfortunatly I needed to go to school on Monday. I had a test on Tuesday but really didn't want to study. After school on Monday we drove to post for Ross Promotion. It was a really nice quick easy ceromony. I pulled off the little tab and they put a new one on. The strangest thing was that everyone shock my hand too, very odd. They all talked to my parents too. Then we left and went to a late lunch. Tuesday rolled around and I kinda studied for my test. Tuesday was uneventful. Wednesday was short and then fun. We just did stuff. Mike came into town that night. Thursday was thanksgiving WOOO WHOOOO we love food. Dana, Amanda, and Joe all came to dinner we had so much food it was crazy. I though I was going to loose it. On Friday we worked on putting the plastic up on the windows which took all day. It is nice to have the added warmth. It isn't that warm but just enough. On saturday We took my folks to the airport and mike headed out. It was alittle hard to say good bye but I'll see them again on the 18th. Ross and I head home to spent the last night togeather. We had a really romantic dinner of pizza and watched TV until about Mid night when I finally couldn't stay up any longer. The next morning at 5;15 we headed out. He made it safe. Since then I've been hanging around cleaning the house and staying busy. School is school. Its almost done, on the 7th to be exact. Then I have some finals and then 3 days of clinicals. I'll keep you all posted. -ca

Spend a night in the box

Ok so it wasn't a box and it wasn't all night either, it was the basement and it was for an hour. Around 4ish yesterday my police-lady neighbor came and told us that a thunderstrom was comming and we all need to go to the basement. It wasn't so bad, we rounded up frankie and got our computers plus I brought my knitting for something to do and we headed out, them down into the depthes of the apartment to join the others. Around 20 of us all stuffed down there with cats, a bird and one dog. It was kinda fun in a strange way, its a great way to get to know your neighbors. Well Ginger got the all clear from the scanner and we went back up, granted it rained for about 3 more hours after that and we had some really great lightening. Our foundation leaked a little so they'll come out and fix that for us, there was soooo much water and wind.
We had a thanksgiving party yesterday at school, I spent all lmorning getting stuff ready, we had 19 desserts and about 30 people showed up for this thing, it was really funny. Most of the food was yucky, about three greenbean things and some candied ones, BLECK. Turkey and Ham, plus some other strange things, needless to say it wasn't mine families eat till you puke kinda thanksgiving, and ended up working my ass off and wasn't even signed up to. Well I should think about getting ready for school I might have a long walk thanks to all the crap that come down in the wind. Ok Love CA

Silly Pat Robertson

Sooo, in PA they voted against "intellegnt Design", go figure people there understand that week didn't just pop into exsistance, well he warned them that they have made god angry by "rejecting" him and that they should expect a disaster. But see as how most of PA is a disater already, what else could happen to them. Well what else funny has happened in the world lately. Not much. There haven't been any loafs of bread in the road as of late, but amanda did have take a quick turn to avoid some rolling deer parts coming into her lane the other day. Schools a mess, because my teacher had her baby a month early had which has thrown everything out of sink. Ross and I moved the dinning room table into the living room and desk into the dinning nook so that we can use the table and watch TV because god forbid talk to each other. Well off to see the Inlaws....love CA

A seriously unproductive weekend

Is what I'm really hoping to have, but I don't think that I will. I've got hair to color, a baby shower to go to. A paper to work on, well its actually done I just need to proof it, Test to study for, and some laundry and a grubby bathroom worth cleaning. Needless to say I do actually have a rather full weekend of fun ahead of me. Ross had dinning in last night which is kinda a monumental frat party, but can sometimes be knida fun, his really wasn't. I'm watching Mia the cat for the weekend while dana goes camping with Joe, hahahahahaa, yeah I'm not one for the camping thing really any more. I really have nothing to talk about today, but I was temped to make fun of Mr Spear's bad rapping but I can't really think of anything to say, plus somehow it would be a waste of space. Ok goning to go work out, yuck.

Happy Halloween

So its my favorite non gift giving, non turkey eating hoilday!!!!! I have a carved pumpkin, which is very cute, not really spookie just silly. I'm wearing my very nifty bat shirt, and I seem to be the only person in class wearing anything halloweenie, but then again last night we did have ghost so we got our spookieness out of our system. GHOST is an event so kids can come and tricker treat safely and get a ton of candy. It was almost as good as Vegas for people watching. We managed to give away all of out candy before the end of the night and because it was getting quite cold out. It was good. I've been lighty the pumpkin every night, gota make the best of it. Mom sent the halloween presents, peanut butter cups and chocolate covered ginger, yum!!! I've already eaten all ginger, mmmmm chocolatly. Ross is still feeling kinda crummy from all his shots, it had a flu shot and others, but they all combined to become one giant muscle ache. He also played softball all day on friday. I've been busy with school so I haven't been doing much. I'm also done with my gift for Kristy for her baby shower, which is this weekend. It's very nice, I'll have to get a neat thing to put it in. I'm also working on a sleeveless shirt that I won't get to wear until next spring, but it might take me that long. I still have another sweater to work on and I haven't started on it, mmmm thats a bit of a problem, but maybe I just give pieces and then finish it. If I had more time I could finish it. Well I should be paying attention in class.....

loafs of bread in the road way

mmm, this strange little tip of the news is brought to you by the folks at NPR. I was listening to the local road report when they said that there were loafs of bread in the road. Well today was a some what productive, between the test I took, then the nap and the studing, not to mention the spotted dog and the meeting, the day isn't even over. So lets slow down. I took a test in lab this morning, pooo, and then went off the the UC to study but I really felt crappy so took 4 Idu's and took a nap in a chair. I woke up and studied some more then ate my lunch which was quite tasty. Then I trugged back to class, sat in class and tried not to drool from complete boardum in a class that I have a degree in. We then played with the STD's mmm, but it was actually dead so we just saw slime. I then left feeling a wee better because I had a coke and the caffine combined with the painkillers to create a false sense of happness. So I walked home in the fadulously cold weather. As I was passing the church I saw a dog in the grass. I wasn't sure if she was alive or dead, I went up tp check on her. She was ok but very pregnant, so I checked on her and she was a little scared. I told her to be a good dog and someone would be back to get her. When I got home, I checked on Krys who was not home but her poor little dog was and she was whining at the door, a 700.00 dollar dog all alone every day all day and night. Well when I got home I called animal control and the took the information and they took my number so they could tell me if she was ok. I haven't heard anything but she couldn't have been a hard catch she was a huge dog. Then I went to post for the Pre-deployment meeting. Then home. Poor Ross had a ton of shots and is a little on the woozy side. Going to make some dinner and then then work on my study guide. What a day. Well then, byebye

the urban sprawl of Clarksville

As with all Army town city planner are too expesive to hire, so instead they let the city grow unchecked while tons of crappy houses with no fences are built in ten seconds flat and sold to the person with the VA loan. Two years latter when the "neighborhood" has gone down hill and the VA loans have become VA repos they leave the houses to built more, further up the road. So as drive some 5 plus miles to the Target, which really isn't that far, except there was plenty of reestate inbetween that with never be filled in, I wonder why in freakin' hell are we building the new hospital out at exit 4, there is space behind the strip malls, there is space before them, there is space in downtown there is space every where, but we have let the core of the city die like a TB infection. The dead center while the outside growns and lives, only become part of the dead center as time passes. Like Lawton, Clarksville will crash and a saddness will consume the city. It's too bad, would be a pretty spot if they just gave some thought to it.

My rant and rave

So now that Ashlee simpson is blond again and is trying to be Gwen clone I wonder that if I was ever 21. I was I remember going to Vegas for my birthday, with my parents to people watch. But I don't remember any of those trivial things like boyfriend stealing that her new album deals with, and if the biggest problem in her life currently than she needs to hang out a bit more with Bono and at least learn about the worlds current problems so she could a least think about the problems facing the more grown up world. The other thing that made me wonder was, mmmmm that lady who is nominated for the supreme court needs to go and get a make over. MMM theres nothing nastier than that eye liner that she wears. Granted the way she looks has nothing to do with how smart she is, but that fact is she looks like a blue toad all the time and its sad because she makes a great deal more than me and should afford a nice suite that is non- toadie. Not to mention that most women of Washington look quite punny all the time, except ms Condie who seems to look around 30 years old all the time. Well so I think I've ranted enough, but ooo it felt good. Ok I'm sure I'll righ something less shallow latter. -CA

Four days off

After my four day weekend, which ends today, I can say I did next to nothing. I cleaned the house and did a lot of laundry, a whole lot of laundry. I really didn't knit as much as I thought I would, I really thought I would finish a sleeve and begin to put it togeather. DAMN. I did how ever begin to knit a lovely hat for a wee Ford that is due in early Dec. Its green and very soft. I hope they like it, but its too big for a newborn. I this lovely collection of yarn on the chair right now in green and coral it looks great. Besides the Zoo I haven't done much of anything. I cleaned out the piss-ant today its very happy, very happy. I cleaned out the inside and got all the junk out of it. Makes me feel good. There was a ton of garbage in it, just little things, wrappers and stuff. I went to TJ max to find a new purse yesterday after I had lunch with Tammy, but found nothing that I wanted or that was in my price range. Today however I went to Belks who has a great selection and a crazy shoe department. I didn't find anything I want in the shoe world. I really want to find a pair of boots that I can wear with my jeans, rolled up. I did find a great nine west on sale for cheap. It might just be the last of the good ones, all the rest are really ugly. Well I know that I have a three day week weeeee, and Ross is taking a four day pass so he and Mike can have a good time. Ok well other than that not much has been going on.

Shades of Seattle

The weekend was great. The weather was fantastic. Cool and windy with a slight over cast. Today is seattle. It's gray and cool and fantastic!!!!! Ross and I went to see Walace and Grommit. It was great fun. We went to dinner at the Cumberland grill and it was mmm ok a bit too homey for ross and I. The food was only soso and the service was crap. We'll go 541 next week. On Saturday night we had a fire in Dana's little fire pit thing it was great because it was cold and it was a good campfire type thing. We need marshmellows and chocolate for smore's, smore what how can I have smore if I haven't had any. Sorry a little sand lot. I spent most of the weekend studing for my two tests next week. I found a dog in the parking lot this morning I wonder if he'll still be there when I get home, he looked like a full chow and he had been shaved at the begining of summer but has since grow some back in, but you could see his "mane". He was friendly but didn't come up to me but I don't falt him, but he didn't run and followed me a little. He was scared.
Well I'm actually in class right now so I should get back to learning...... uhuh.

well it's about damn time

So it's here, yes fall, so they say. Its a nice 75 out today and dropping thanks to a cold front moving in. I hope that it lasts and we can all wear coats again.
So the new trend in the celeb world is to knock em' up and the marry them eh? WIth the supper gross Cruse Holmes combo now filling the gene pool who's next? Maybe I should divorce so I can get pregnant and then get married again like all the cool people.
Well i just had to vent about that, in other places, like school, which has taken an all time turn for the worst. Our Micro teacher is readding from the book for the first time in class, which we all then highlight and sleep while he reads the next few sentences to himself. Today he called it a review day but in reality he just reread us the book with a few more things that he had failed to point out the first time around. I WOULD HAVE RATHER HAD MY TOE NAILS PULLED OUT. so needless to say that was 2 hours of my life I will never get back.

Monarchs and fall

Well its a nasty 85 degrees today this third icky day of october. Yes 85 degrees and warmer tommorrow and the day after with it cooling after thrusday. Cross your fingers hope to die stick a needle in you eye weather man. The monarch butterflies are floating their way to mexico now a days and they pass through here on the way. It's quite nice to see them. Large and pretty they just to their thing. The are smarter than you think. The dodge cars and find the shade all very gracefully. I'm just glad to be seeing them. I don't know how long they'll stay. The humming birds seem to be on their way for the summer, I haven't seen any lately. Hoping to see some birds that are migrating south this fall we'll see what comes. I still have three growing tomatoes so I do hope for some sun but cool days. Did you see the pictures from the park. Ross and I went to port Royal state park and looked at what was left of the covered bridge. It was first destroyed in a flood in the late century and then rebuilt, and it as burned and then damaged when they we're trying to repair it. It took a life. It just sits there now just the one end over the river. Too Bad. We walked around but the nature trail was also sad. Nothing much to look out there. I have a test on Friday so I need to go back to studing keep you up to date.
